I love Georgia defensive end Travon Walker But even so from Shaftesbury's blog
If your team reached the playoffs, congrats -you're hoping that a poor team isn't able to make it happen and Madden 23 coins sees a talented player fall.
In the past, we've seen several mock drafts by ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay, but Tuesday marked their first combined mock of the year, with the two draft experts alternating picks from the beginning of the second round all the way to this round. Today, we'll look at the biggest things that jumped at me when I saw this mock.
I love Georgia defensive end Travon Walker But even so, I'm concerned that we've hit a ridiculous season with him. Walker was a late-mid first round pick just prior to the combine, and then he impressed everyone with his athletic potential. And now his stock is way above the norm.
Kiper has Walker going No. 2 overall to the Lions in the belief that they'll use pass rush, regardless of Aidan Hutchinson being off the list (he's been drafted No. 1). On some level , I see the idea. Walker is the perfect size to play a 4-3 defender with the kind of athleticism typically reserved for a edge rusher in a 3-4. The problem I'm trying to deal with is taking this much of a chance with a top 5 pick on a guy who had 9.5 sacks in college ... all in all.
I'm not saying that raw stats aren't the be all-all, be all of college pass rushers. Here's what I'm worried about: In the top 10 sacks leaders within Madden NFL 23 Madden NFL 23 last year one player didn't achieve at least a 10.0 sacks in his college season. That was Micah Parsons. It's quite scary to think of a player this high and not having a proven track record.
Cross is the most effective pass blocking offensive tackle in this draft, in all likelihood. That's why to see him drop to the number. 13 spot is astonishment to me. I understand why this happened due to the way their mock was coming together but I'm still unable to believe it.
It wasn't long ago I had Cross marked in with the Panthers with the number. 6 and was still concerned that the possibility of him not being available. There are some upside issues with Cross that have led some (including me) to select Evan Neal above him as the second best offensive tackle in the draft. I'd still be awestruck to observe that the Falcons and Seahawks trading him.
That said, if the Texans manage to come away with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Charles Cross as this mock has been arranged, would it be an exciting time in Houston.
Everyone and their brother has Sauce Gardner going as the top cornerback of the year. I am sure of it. The obvious second-best CB will be Derek Stingley Jr, and I also get it. After that the Kiper/McShay mock gets off track for me.
Daxton Hill at No. 18. Andrew Booth Jr. at No. 25. then we'll have to wait until we get pick 48 for Kaiir Elam? What's this madness?
Elam is superior to Booth Jr. and Hill as well as Booth Jr. to me, and mut coins madden 23 he's plummeting.
