"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"

Patients come to our Lenexa practice to get aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin for his advice to patients who may have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatment. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. It's normal for people to want their best. Everyone wants to feel great. BOTOX, an aesthetic treatment that temporarily reduces wrinkles and lines can be used but it can't make someone look like they did in college.

What can Aesthetic Injectable Treatments do?

Dr. Margolin describes aging skin as a piece of paper. If you took a piece paper and folded it repeatedly over the years, you would get permanent creases. This is what happens when we touch our skin. BOTOX and JUVEDERM injectables can temporarily reduce signs of aging by relaxing facial muscles or filling in specific areas.

What is BOTOX, and how can it help you?

The treatment reduces the appearance wrinkles by relaxing facial muscle, but it's not as dramatic and drastic as plastic surgery. BOTOX can be helpful for patients who have forehead or eyebrow lines. What to Expect from BOTOX Treatments and Juvederm Therapy

Both Juvederm or BOTOX treatments take just a few minutes and are extremely efficient. Because there are more injections, it is possible that larger areas of skin will require more treatment.

How long each treatment will last

Both treatments are effective, but Juvederm has a faster recovery time and is considered more long-lasting. BOTOX is effective for a few days but fades after a few weeks. To maintain your results, you will need to get additional treatments. According to the manufacturer, Juvederm filler injections can be seen immediately.

BOTOX injections (like Juvederm) are quick and painless. The greater the treatment area, the more injections are required. Multiple injections may take slightly longer to complete. To see results from BOTOX treatments, it can take up 24 to 48 hour.

Treatments Results

Here are the key differences in outcomes for each therapy. Juvederm injections might have immediate effects. One-to two years is the average time that Juvederm injections will be effective. However, results may vary from one person to another. Long-term effects can vary significantly between formulations. The BOTOX treatment is fast, but it should be done every four months.
