"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"

Patients come to our Lenexa practice to get aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin his advice for patients who have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatments. Dr. Margolin explained that he tells potential patients the truth. He is not a magician, but an M.D. I get that people want to look their very best. Everyone wants to feel great. BOTOX may temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles, but these treatments cannot make people look as good or famous as they did in college.

What can Aesthetic Injectable Treatments do?

Dr. Margolin compares aging skin to a piece if paper. The paper will have permanent wrinkles if it is folded in different ways over decades. This is what happens when we touch our skin. BOTOX, JUVEDERM, and other injectable treatments can temporarily reduce the signs and symptoms of aging. They relax facial muscles and fill in certain areas.

What is BOTOX, and how can it help you?

This treatment reduces wrinkles by relaxing facial muscles. However, it's not as dramatic or as drastic as plastic surgeons. BOTOX may be able to help patients with forehead lines and eyebrow creases. BOTOX reduces the appearance and texture of lines, as well as preventing them from creasing your skin. BOTOX won't correct wrinkles or lines that result from facial loss. JUVEDERM, a dermal injectable that fills in the gaps between your skin and the rest of the body, is used to treat these issues.

What is JUVEDERM and how can it help you?

Difference between JUVEDERM AND BOTOX

What is the difference between Juvederm & BOTOX? Both therapies are aimed at the same outcome, but have different active components. BOTOX

BOTOX is a noninvasive method of treating wrinkles. It's however made from different ingredients. BOTOX injections are an injectable neurotoxin. They relax wrinkles and smoothen facial lines. BOTOX treatments smoothen lines and soften wrinkles in the following ways

Juvederm

Juvederm can be used as a non-invasive treatment, and it does not require surgical intervention. Each treatment contains a gel containing hyaluronic to "fill" any visible wrinkles. Different types of volumizing solutions are available to adults in various formulations. They can be used to treat different types of wrinkles.

What to Expect From BOTOX and Juvederm Treatments

Both Juvederm or BOTOX treatments take just a few minutes and are extremely efficient. You may need to treat larger areas of skin with more injections due to the complexity of the procedure.

How long each treatment can last

Both treatments are effective but Juvederm is more effective and lasts longer. BOTOX works in a few days, but the effects fade after a few months. To maintain your results, you will need to get additional treatments. Juvederm filler shots can sometimes be seen right away, depending on the manufacturer.

BOTOX injections (like Juvederm) are quick and painless. The greater the treatment area, the more injections are required. It may take longer to complete multiple injections. Results from BOTOX treatments for wrinkles can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours.

Treatments Show Results

These are the main differences in the outcomes of each therapy. Juvederm injections can have an immediate effect. Although one to two years is the expected time frame for Juvederm injections, individual results may vary. There may be significant differences in the long-term results between different formulations. BOTOX treatments are fast but should be administered every four to six months.
