"Can BOTOX Make Me Look Younger?"

Patients come to our Lenexa practice to get aesthetic treatments. We asked Dr. Margolin for his advice to patients who may have unrealistic expectations about aesthetic treatment. Dr. Margolin told us that he is an M.D. and not a magician. I know that people want to look their best. Everybody wants to feel and look their best. BOTOX may temporarily reduce lines and wrinkles, but these treatments cannot make people look as good or famous as they did in college.

What can Aesthetic Injectable Treatments do?

Dr. Margolin compares the process of aging skin to folding a piece paper. Permanent creases can be created by folding a piece a paper repeatedly over many decades. This is what happens with our skin. BOTOX and JUVEDERM injectables can temporarily reduce signs of aging by relaxing facial muscles or filling in specific areas.

What is BOTOX?

Although this treatment can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, it is not as dramatic than plastic surgery. BOTOX is a treatment that can be used to reduce the appearance of forehead lines or eyebrow creases. This treatment smoothens wrinkles and prevents them forming. BOTOX can't treat wrinkles and lines caused due to loss of facial fullness. JUVEDERM and dermal fillers are used to remedy these problems.

What is JUVEDERM?

Although it may not appear so, our faces lose fat as we age, particularly around the cheeks. As we age, our faces become thinner and more saggy. This leads to wrinkles such as laugh lines and loss of volume.

You can restore your facial volume by injecting fillers, also known as dermal Fillers. JUVEDERM is one type of filler. It is made up of a hyaluronic Acid that gives the cheeks more volume, giving it a more youthful appearance. JUVEDERM is also used to plump the lips. Lips lose their fullness over time. What is the difference between Juvederm or BOTOX? Both treatments have similar outcomes but the active components differ. BOTOX

BOTOX can also be used as a non-invasive treatment for wrinkles. However, it's made of very different ingredients. BOTOX injections are an injectable neurotoxin. They relax wrinkles and smoothen facial lines. BOTOX injections are used to smoothen lines and soften the wrinkles.

Juvederm, a non-invasive procedure that doesn't require surgery, is a treatment that is not invasive. Each treatment contains a gel containing hyaluronic to "fill" any visible wrinkles. What to Expect From BOTOX and Juvederm Treatments

It takes only a few moments to complete Juvederm and Botox procedures. They are also very efficient. You may need to treat larger areas of skin with more injections due to the complexity of the procedure.

How long each treatment lasts

While both treatments can be effective, Juvederm lasts longer and works faster. BOTOX is effective for a few days but fades after a few weeks. You will need to continue your results with additional treatments. Juvederm Filler Injections can be seen as soon as possible, according to the manufacturer.

BOTOX injections (like Juvederm) are quick and painless. The larger the area to be treated, the more you will need. Multiplying will take you a bit longer. To see results from BOTOX treatments, it can take up 24 to 48 hour.

Treatments Results

Here are some key differences between each therapy's outcomes. Juvederm injectables may have visible effects immediately. Although one to two years is the expected time frame for Juvederm injections, individual results may vary. Long-term effects can vary significantly between formulations. Although BOTOX is quick, treatments should be repeated every four months.
