Other measures that the developer may be looking at as punishment for RWT activity include wealth removal  OSRS Gold, which is basically the removal of illicit gains from accounts of players on an individual server level. It could also mean potential bans.

RuneScape's PvP aspect, also known as the Duel Arena, will also see stricter rules implemented. Jagex states that the feature "has been a source of this kind of shady behavior" and that 38 per cent of all bans against RWT actions up to now result from this particular aspect which the players play. Jagex says this is equivalent around "thousands of bans every month".

As a result, the developer seems to be considering the nuclear approach, stating that "we're contemplating in the near future to phase down the Duel Arena out of RuneScape entirely." Until then it will be implementing "some short-term actions" to improve PvP "until our team of developers is able to create an extensive update that completely takes over the Duel Arena next year."

The rules will have a limit in the number of GP which is also known as gold points which players can stake on a match in the Duel Arena. Players will be allowed to bet "no higher than $50m GP for each duel". The additional measures have not been defined yet.

Jagex states that "a brand new experience that'll play out as part the Elder God Wars storyline" will replace Duel Arena in the early 2022 timeframe No further details have been announced yet.
