You then realize that everyone is slamming on it on Neogaf or whatever and you're thinking 'oh, it's because everyone was thinking that we were playing something similar to a Zelda game and it's like there's no way that's what we do.' It's both and sometimes we get a laugh out of the absurdity, and at other times it can get aggravating when it goes on for a more than it should," said Kozlowsky.

Kozlowsky's comments are an interesting perspective on how rumors circulate and the ways in which it could adversely affect a game's popularity. Although Tropical Freeze might not have been the game that people were hoping to see released, it received strong critical reviews upon its launch. It's always frustrating to put hard work into something only to see the internet be disappointed based on false rumors. It's impossible to control the reaction of fans to the announcement of a game, however, hopefully this experience gave some fans a better understanding of maintaining their expectations!
