Somebody once wrote me, asking, “There are certainly a large amount of teachers and students of A Course in Miracles on the market, but there must be a thing that you've hooked into, or caught onto? Something that triggered a transformation or perhaps a major healing. So, the thing that was it?”

“Trust,” I said.

Think about your lifetime because it appears to be these days with regards to the story. Just how do we answer the question; “Who do I trust? Where do I do believe my safety lies? How will I be sustained? Who's my source?” So whenever we discuss the past stage to the awakening being pure trust, it's simply about disengaging and withdrawing our faith and rely upon many of these made-up concepts, beliefs and ideas in the world. It's kind of like creating a big house of cards, stacking on one card after the other. Then a good wind comes along and poof, it's just blown over. It can't even stand a little gust of wind. It's so frail. It's so temporary. It's so transitory; It had been this sense of placing rely upon the Spirit and withdrawing rely upon the rest; dozens of things that were identified and learned as worldly accomplishments. Why should we rely upon those? Have they ever brought us lasting peace and happiness? Are they really trustworthy?It surely comes right down to the essence of who is my buddy? Is it Spirit or matter? Is it Spirit or form? Furthermore how most of us have tried trusting people? Has anybody tried this 1?So you are asking the question, “When someone dies or appears to be dying of starvation, what does that say about their mind?” Where all of this is heading is always to the awareness that everything is mental. a course in miracles authors What this awakening will reveal is that everything is mental and that everything is really a hallucination. That is an environment of ideas and what we call manifest reality, isn't reality at all. There's no distinction between thought and form. Jesus has to create his whole workbook in A Course In Miracles on making the bond between thought and form. His lessons start with, “Nothing I see means anything,” (W-1) and, “I have given everything I see all this is it has for me.” (W-2) Then, He works his way as much as number 4, “These thoughts do not mean anything&rdquo ;.Now, He's referring to thoughts. First He's referring to perception, then about our thoughts, then He comes home with lessons 5,6,7,8,9 ... perception, perception, perception, perception, perception ... and then number 10, “My thoughts do not mean anything.” You can see he's wanting to melt everything together and show the past veil or stage of awakening, that will be trust.

The Holy Spirit uses time and energy to teach us there is no such thing as time, to take us back to that particular timeless moment that's the gateway to eternity. He uses symbols to show us that they're all illusions and that they're all equally meaningless. That's the way of operation of Holy Spirit. The Spirit has to work well with your brain to loosen the attachments from the investment in a myriad of things. What type of things would you spend money on, these days?
