The statement follows a report from Sports Gamers Online that EA has decided to stop any further Franchise mode update for Madden 22. It partly cited IGN's own discussion with Madden 22 Executive Producer Seann Graddy, who admitted that this year's schedule is "slightly less ambitious than years past" because the team is focused on a few key areas rather than trying to release items on the size of Superstar KO, a well-received arcade mode launched with Madden 20.
"I would say [the roadmap may be a bit less ambitious than previous years since we're focusing on a handful of core elements that are the core of Madden 22 and also getting established on Madden 23 in a big way," Graddy said at the time. "So I'm sticking to what we've been saying for the last two years: we're a live service and we'll continue to update Madden, however we're definitely not going to be talking about a brand new mode."
