The announcement follows a report from Sports Gamers from Alexis's blog
We don't like to comment on rumors or speculation, but we're dedicated to Madden 22 coins continuing to enhance Franchise as part of our ongoing Madden NFL 22 live service and beyond. The two updates are part of the Franchise updates which we'll release with Madden NFL 22. We will have more details about the updates during the new year.
The announcement follows a report from Sports Gamers Online that EA was deciding to stop additional franchise mode updates for Madden 22. It partly cited IGN's own video interview of Madden 22 executive producer Seann Graddy. The executive producer said that the current content roadmap for Madden 22 is "slightly more modest than previous years prior" due to the fact that the team is focussing on a few key areas rather than attempting to roll out games on the same scale as Superstar KO, a well-received arcade mode that was introduced in Madden 20.
"I would say that [the plan is] probably slightly less ambitious than what we have seen in the past due to the fact that we're only focusing on a few key segments within Madden 22 and we are also getting underway on Madden 23 in a big manner," Graddy said at the time. "So I will stand by the same thing we've stated over in the last couple of years"We're a live-streaming service and we'll continue to improve games, though we're definitely not talking about a brand-new mode."
The report was a source of attention partly due to cheapest mut 22 coins franchise mode, which is a thorny issue for certain Madden players. The roadmap that was promised originally came in response to the hashtag #fixmaddenfranchise, which circulated on Twitter in the middle of 2020. It began following reports that EA had not planned improvements for franchise mode that year.
