bringing contemporary style to Hancocks

Daughter joins family jewellery business nothing particularly remarkable about that. Daughter joins family jewellery business with an offering that's the polar opposite, exposing it to a new breed of clientele in the process that's where things become interesting.

The copy cartier love necklace price latter is the case for Amy Burton, the daughter of Stephen and Janie Burton, who own Hancocks vintage jewellery boutique in Mayfair's Burlington Arcade. In late 2016, the genteel 167 year old company which stocks vintage jewels from Victorian tiaras to Art Deco Cartierand signed pieces by Flato, Grima and Lalaounis got a blast of the modern day when Burton launched her strikingly contemporary debut collection.

"The idea of a caged design had been in my head for a really long time, I had sketchbooks of ideas but it was never quite right," Burton says. "Then I saw this gate in the garden at the Peggy Guggenheim gallery and it all just clicked. As soon as I got back I had it made up."

To do so she needed a goldsmith with the right balance between traditional craftsmanship and modern vision. Her brother Guy leads the design of the company's antique inspired engagement rings, all handmade by British craftspeople, but Burton's designs were unlike anything they'd encountered before.

Despite such a modern day aesthetic, there are hints of Burton's antique jewellery upbringing. Her commitment to traditional techniques, for one: "I don't touch CAD there's a place for it, but it's not for me". Elsewhere, the watery hue of a pale aquamarine offers a subtle but undeniable nod to the past. "Because of my background and expertise in vintage jewellery, there are little elements that pop up," she admits. "I love coloured stones but I prefer the softer, gentler unheated ones I prefer a more natural look."

And while a geometric tangle of yellow gold and amethyst may not be exactly what the typical Hancocks customer expects to see alongside vintage Sterl, Van Cleef and Boucheron, that's not to say they can't be converted. "There's definitely a crossover of interest," says Burton: one of the first pieces she replica cartier chain sold was a pair of Disorient hoops, to a couple who also purchased a classic pair of 1920s drop earrings.

"I think that there will be people who find Amy Burton Fine Jewellery via Hancocks and vice versa. The fact that it's all chain cartier fake handcrafted gives it that timeless aspect, so even though it's not estate jewellery people still feel like they're investing in a piece that will, hopefully, be passed on for gold love necklace fake generations."
