Education and Cultural Minister Muhadjir Effendy on Monday called authorities of schools to intensify activities which can strengthen students' nationalism and patriotism.

That aims to narrow opportunity of radicalism from spreading, he said.

"Amid this uncertainty condition, we have no choice, (but to) return to our national identity," he said.

The minister reminded students to avoid involving in activities classified as spreading hatred and anger in cyber media.

The government has intensified efforts to fight cyber terror attacks, according to Rudiantara, minister of communication and information.

According to social ministry, about 75 out of 161 people influenced by radicalism are children based on data from August 2017 to June 2017.

Besides, many Indonesian children, who followed their parents to join terrorist activities in conflict areas, have been trained on skills for terrorist strikes, head of the country's counter-terrorism agency Suhardi Alius has said.

Such concern had also been voiced since a decade ago when former Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono reminded that youngsters in the country had been targeted in the spread of radicalism by militants.

HO CHI MINH CITY, Aug. 13 (Xinhua) -- Nearly 150 cyclists from 18 teams across Vietnam will participate in the 24th Mekong River Delta Cycling Tournament slated for kicking off here Friday.

Cyclists, including top ones such as Le Van Duan, Do Tuan Anh and Mai Nguyen Hung, will vie for the trophy in a 1,038km race through Mekong Delta provinces, the Vietnam Sports Bicycle and Motorbike Association said Thursday.

The race's final stage, the eight, will take place in Ben Tre Province on Aug. 20.

The tournament is organized by the association and Ben Tre's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
