PU-21 Loadout for Hardcore Modes: Maximize Damage and Precision
3. Recoil Management in Hardcore
The PU-21 has moderate recoil, which can be a challenge in Hardcore modes where a single shot can end an engagement. To keep this in check, you’ll want to tweak your loadout even further for precision.

Consider swapping the Commando Foregrip for a Merc Foregrip or Operator Foregrip. These options reduce vertical recoil, ensuring that every shot stays on target, even during rapid fire. In Hardcore, you’ll need to make every bullet count, and a more stable weapon will help secure those critical kills.
Alternatively, if you’re confident in your recoil control, you could opt for the Tactical Suppressor. This attachment keeps you stealthy but also slightly reduces the recoil, providing an edge in longer firefights where you need to consistently land shots.
4. Ammo Capacity and Reload Speed
In Hardcore modes, your ammo count is even more critical, given the limited number of bullets in each magazine. If you’re going for the 60-round Mags, this is particularly useful for extended gunfights and clearing out areas. However, you’ll need to balance this with Fast Mags for quicker reload times. Fast reloads ensure you can get back into the action faster, especially if you find yourself out of cover in the middle of a fight.
The Scavenger perk remains essential here, as it allows you to recover ammo from fallen enemies and keep your weapons fully stocked. Be strategic with your ammo — don’t waste shots in Hardcore mode, as missing means you might not get a second chance.
5. Play Cautiously, Engage Intelligently
In Hardcore, the pace is slower, and death comes faster. Avoid rushing into engagements with the PU-21. Instead, play cautiously, picking off enemies from cover or engaging at mid-range, where the PU-21 excels. Stealth and careful positioning are your best friends. Use your Monolithic Suppressor to stay off the radar, allowing you to make calculated plays without drawing attention to yourself.
Consider sticking with your team, as Hardcore often rewards team play and coordination. Keep an eye on your teammates' positions and rotate to areas where you can offer support or take advantage of weak spots in the enemy's defense.
