Investigation into Tracy Connelly's murder heads overseas
Tracy Connelly's murder could have been a "robbery gone wrong", police say as they seek the St Kilda sex worker's killer overseas.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stuart Bailey told ABC'sAustralian Story on Monday nightthat the homicide squad will run DNA samples found in the van Ms Connelly was murdered in through Interpol.
"There's been several samples of DNA, all to the one contributor,alhambra imitation bracelet van cleef, and we're quite certain that that is our male suspect. We've tested that DNA nationally and it hasn't come up on our database," he said.

Senior Sergeant Bailey said Ms Connelly's murder could have been a robbery gone wrong.
"There's a black handbag that's been stolen, her mobile phone, a Bendigo credit card and they've never been found," he told the ABC.
"We believe the most likely theory is that she's tried to struggle to keep her possessions after they've engaged probably in sex and that's when she's been brutally attacked and it's been a really vicious attack that's led to her death."
He said Ms Connelly's partner TonyMelissovas has supplied police with 3000 registration numbers belonging to the cars of Ms Connelly's clients that he recorded in the 18 months leading up to her death.
"So what we're doing now is pulling that information together to try to get new persons of interest," he said.
Police also revealed they were searching for two potential witnesses and released a previously pixelated closed circuit television footage toAustralian Storythat identifies a man they believe may have seen Ms Connelly with her killer metres from where she was murdered.
The footage shows a lone man, with his head down and wearing white shoes, long pants and a jacket,bracelet van cleef copy alhambra, walking on a footpath past the security camera.
