HPD exposes con artists who prey on elderly woman, rolex datejust lady replica

The traveling con artists preyed on elderly women, using convincing ruses to bilk their victims out of thousands of dollars by claiming their cars needed repair.

One 77 year old woman was scammed out of more than $20,000.

After the victim gave her keys to one of the suspects, she was helped into their white Ford Explorer. When one of the men drove the victim's car up, she said it making "loud thumping noises, rolex oyster datejust replica," according to court records.

The men then claimed her car needed "major repairs," and they would fix it for about $8,000. The victim agreed to be taken to her bank by two women and one man.

Police said Betty Yonko was one of the women and the owner of the vehicle. Her son Angelo was the man who rode along, court records allege.

Taken to jewelry store

After the victim gave $8,000 to one of the women, she was taken to Plaza Jewelers in the 7500 block of Bellaire.

The elderly woman said she became afraid at this point because the group refused to take her to her car, officials said.

While in the store, Angelo Yonko had the victim buy jewelry for him with her credit card. According to court records, she was told he would pay her back with the money she gave him for the car repairs.

The victim told investigators she didn't believe him, but agreed in order to protect herself. The woman purchased two watches for $14,800, officials said.

A store employee later told police she had seen the suspects in the store before.

The suspects next took the woman to her car, parked near a PetSmart on West and Dunvale. They then left in their SUV, which was later found by police near Bellaire and Gessner. The woman drove home and called police.

On June 15, police spoke with Angelo Yonko's 23 year old brother. He told officers that the suspect showed him a Rolex watch and said a woman he met at Walmart bought it for him. Yonko called the woman "dumber than a box of rocks," his brother said.
