New Glue Traps Legislation Passes Final Reading in England

New government-backed legislation restricting the use of glue traps in England has received support from the House of Lords during its third and final reading in parliament. The Glue Traps (Offences) Bill prohibits the use of glue traps for the purpose of catching rodents or setting a glue trap in a manner which may risk that a rodent will become caught in the trap.To get more news about Rat Glue Board, you can visit senpinghz.com official website.

However, the new bill does permit glue traps to be used if a professional pest controller is granted a licence to use them on an exceptional basis if required to preserve public health and safety and where no other viable alternative is available. The pest controller must then follow the conditions set out in the licence to ensure the welfare of rodents, for example regular monitoring of any set traps.

Anyone found to be using glue boards without a licence could receive an unlimited fine and/or 6 months in prison. This ban will come into force in the next two years, therefore professional pest controllers can continue to use glue traps during this two-year period whilst the licencing scheme is introduced.

This new legislation has been introduced alongside other regulations as part of the Action Plan for Animal Welfare which aims to improve the welfare and conservation of animals both in the UK and abroad.

Training on the use of Glue Boards has been provided by Killgerm. Any PROMPT Members who complete this training course will also receive 2 CPD Points.
