Win Place Show tickets are available from Lottery retailers across the state. The game features horse races nationwide, with a different live race available to play daily.

Tickets cost $2 and are Quick Pick-style, with three randomly chosen racehorse names and numbers, plus details including the track name and race time. Races are held nearly every day day as close to 5:00 pm ET as possible.Players can win a prize based on whether their horses finish in the top three places in that day's race, and the order in which they match the horses' numbers.

The Bluegrass State, with its iconic thoroughbred racing industry, was a natural place to introduce the game. The annual Kentucky Derby is an institution famous for its fashion and Mint Julep drinks as well as its racing prowess.

"Given that racing is such a big part of the fabric of Kentucky, we're excited to be the first state to launch Win Place Show," Kentucky Lottery Interim President and CEO Marty Gibbs said. "Increased Kentucky Lottery sales mean more dollars for the college scholarship and grant programs we fund, and we're anxious to see how the game performs in the marketplace."

Win Place Show is the result of an innovative collaboration between the Kentucky Lottery and EquiLottery Games, a Louisville-based lottery game developer with a focus on fusing live sports with traditional lottery play.We could not be more delighted to launch our first game in my adopted home state of Kentucky," EquiLottery Games Founder and CEO Brad Cummings said. "Especially at a time when people are looking for safe ways to enjoy live sports, Win Place Show lays the groundwork for a new category where players do not have to be experts to win real money on live events like horse racing."

Win Place Show had a successful test run in March 2019 through 45 retailers, and the statewide launch was planned for April 2020. However, with the spread of coronavirus, the game's debut was pushed back. The Lottery expects $2 million in ticket sales this fiscal year.
