In collaboration with Statista, the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, Forbes conducted their annual survey to more than 50,000 American employees working for companies with more than 1,000 employees in America. Across 25 industry sectors, 1,000 employers have been awarded, 500 large employers and 500 midsize employers.

The evaluation was based on direct and indirect recommendations from employees that were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. Employee evaluations also included other employers in their respective industries that stood out either positively or negatively. The survey was conducted through online access panels to ensure respondents were anonymous and able to freely give their opinions without company influence.

“We are honored to be recognized once again as one of America’s Best Large Employers,” said Todd Wanek, President and CEO. “Ashley is a family company with multi-generational employees and leaders. As a company, we work together to continuously improve and strive to be the best furniture company, which would not be possible without all of our employees.”

Today, Ashley has more than 17,000 employees nationwide (over 35,000 worldwide) and has over 30 million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space under roof. The company owns the industry’s largest transportation fleet - operating more than 1,225 tractors and 4,000 trailers. As the largest retail furniture store brand in North America, Ashley offers one of the largest product assortments to more than 1,000 Ashley HomeStores and 20,000 storefronts throughout 155 countries.

As an industry leader in technology innovations; Ashley has recently invested billions of dollars into their people, technology and facilities to improve every aspect of the company’s performance, while lowering costs to their customers. Under the leadership of Todd Wanek, Ashley's President and CEO, and Ron Wanek, its Founder and Chairman, the family-owned company continues to evolve and grow.

“We are committed to providing a best-in-class employee experience – especially during the pandemic,” stated Danna Szwed, Executive Vice President of Human Resources. “Our top priority is the health and safety of our team members, our customers and the communities in which we work and live. During this trying time, this recognition means even more to our organization as it comes directly from the great people who make our company great – our employees.”
Custom furniture is booming. Grant Trick knows why

Done? If you didn't put Irondale, Alabama, at the top of the list, you're forgiven-it's a little off the beaten path. But despite being secreted away in a quiet suburb of Birmingham, Grant Trick's workshop has become a go-to source for designers all over the country. They come to him in search of exquisite tailoring, good vibes and-in a time when big manufacturers are struggling-reasonable lead times. To get more news about furniture wholesale, you can visit wholesalefurnitureonline.com official website.

"We're the ones maybe reaping the rewards of the terrible situation for the larger manufacturers, because now our lead time is shorter than theirs," Trick tells host Dennis Scully on the latest episode of The Business of Home Podcast. "Now we have our own frame shop. ... We have a good foam resource. We can live off our supply much longer. Our supply would last a North Carolina factory 30 minutes, and we can go three months. We've learned how to buy very well."

Of course, Trick didn't get into the business to compete with Lee Industries or Baker on lead times; he initially didn't intend to get into the business at all. He started his career in fashion, then designed window displays for Tiffany's. A West Coast trip took the designer to San Francisco, where, in the thick of the recession, he started working for a custom furniture workroom-his entree into the world of interior design.

After relocating to Alabama to be closer to family, Trick started his own operation in 2010 and has been growing it steadily ever since. Originally, he produced anything and everything, but over the years has built a reputation for custom furniture driven by a fabric-first approach. That, and a lively Instagram presence (few custom upholstery workrooms are as likely to break out into spontaneous sing-alongs) have won the designer a dedicated clientele.
In this episode of the podcast, he shares a CliffsNotes course on what to look for in a quality sofa, offers insight on why custom is booming right now and explains what he's learned from the early stages of launching his own collection. He also weighs in on a hot industry topic-the social-media-driven copy shaming instigated by anonymous Instagram account @DesignWithinCopy.

"I think if you asked everybody who does what we do, from the fancy New York workrooms to the good ones out West, I think we've all made a few Kagan sofas. It is what it is. [But] none of us are branding that or putting our name on it or taking credit for the design of it," he says. "I feel like the internet shaming thing is pretty lame. If kids were doing it, it'd be called bullying. ... I challenge the person sitting on a nameless Instagram account to come sit in this office, which is where I draw furniture, and give me seven sofas you've never seen before. Try it."

There are times that you have walked into a furniture store and wondered how many people have similar designs in their homes. Sometimes you can get to spend thousands of dollars on furniture only to find the same table set at a friend’s house. When you buy custom-made furniture, you can eliminate those concerns. The furnishing that you have in your home should reflect your personality and your lifestyle. As much as you are looking to be unique, you do not have to pay thousands more than what a showroom offers. However, you will pay slightly more for custom-made furniture than for off-floor pieces. Still, it’s worth every penny whether you are looking for furnishings for your very first home. Or, if you need an upgrade or want to remodel, opting for unique personalized handmade pieces can turn your space into a haven. There are various reasons why custom-made furniture is the first choice for many people.

1. Get The Exact Color And Size
Custom design furniture can incorporate different materials and patterns to meet your requirements and your desire. It is mainly because you do not have to settle for the only three options offered at the furniture store. Only your imagination can hold you back. The best thing with custom furniture is that you get precisely the size and color you need for your space. Suppose you need to customize your closet at your new house. Get these custom closets and fit them according to the size of the area. Another thing with custom furniture is that you can match them according to the color scheme at your home. With showroom furniture, it isn’t easy to get furniture that matches your choice of colors. It gets frustrating as you cannot match the color scheme with custom furniture.

2. Provides The Perfect Function And Fit
There are two primary reasons why people turn to custom-made furnishing: it is because of function and fit. You might find that you have an odd-shaped piece of furniture in your home that does not seem to fit anywhere. You may want a unique component to display all your collectibles; you can have a wall unit custom-made. When you have furniture custom built to your style, desire, and specification beats carrying a tape measure from showroom to showroom. Bespoke furnishings give you peace of mind as furniture fits according to your space. With the custom furnishings, you look at the function of that particular piece. What do you need the piece of furniture to do? Then turn to space and consider the fit.
3. Higher Quality
When you get custom-made furniture, it’s according to your specifications from the master builder. The quality is always higher than the mass-produced furniture you find in showrooms. They pay special attention to all the custom furniture, ensuring that the end product is according to size and specification. The builder ensures that the pieces meet your expectations; in addition, you get long-lasting quality.

4. Custom Made Furniture Is One Of A Kind
When you go to a showroom, for instance, you will find that a sofa is available in three different colors, limiting you. However, with custom-made furniture, you can choose fabrics from a myriad of colors. You have vast choices and designs. The good thing is that they know the choice you make is unique, and you will have one-of-a-kind furnishings that you will not see at your neighbor’s house. When you get custom design furniture, you can stretch your imagination as far as possible. Put it to work, creating pieces of furniture that speak of your needs, desires, and dreams.

Despite the pandemic, the furniture market in High Point, N.C., opened this week. Each year, it's one of the biggest showcase events for the industry and draws people from around the world. As Naomi Prioleau of member station WUNC reports, furniture manufacturers are experiencing a real boom.To get more news about wholesale furniture, you can visit beour.com official website.

NAOMI PRIOLEAU, BYLINE: Latin music blares from radios as dozens of workers assemble couches, chairs and other furniture on this factory floor. It's filled with fabric, foam and wood everywhere.

ANGIE MCWHERTER: This is the back wall in this department. So this is all the stuff that's sewed (ph) that we haven't gotten to yet or we don't have frames for yet.

PRIOLEAU: Piedmont is a wholesale manufacturer that sells to furniture chains, mom-and-pop stores and e-commerce. McWherter says that while she's grateful for all the extra business, these past few months have been hectic.

MCWHERTER: It is very stressful, but it's come to the point where we've just started telling customers we're doing the best we can. We're going to try to get this out in 12, 14, 16 weeks. It may happen; it may not.

PRIOLEAU: The pandemic has hammered some sectors of the industry, like commercial furniture. But home furnishing sales are booming. Customers wanting new couches, tables and chairs are having to wait six months or longer before they'll be ready. Here at Piedmont Furniture, McWherter says they shut the factory down mid-March, and when they reopened a month later, almost their entire staff returned. Then in May, the orders poured in.

MCWHERTER: It was like, what do you have in stock? We sold everything we had - everything. I mean, like, odds-and-end pieces that we'd had for a couple of years - people were fighting over them. There was nothing left in our warehouse at all.

PRIOLEAU: The High Point Furniture Market, which is underway now, is an extremely important hands-on event that brings buyers and sellers together. There's usually a spring market, too, but this year it was canceled due to the pandemic. The rise in demand can be attributed to a number of factors. Gerald Fox is an economics professor at High Point University. He says mortgage rates are low, and some people are upsizing, partly because they're staying home more.

GERALD FOX: They're thinking about their homes to a greater degree. They're working from home. They want to make their home a more pleasant place since they're spending more hours there. They might need office furniture at home.

PRIOLEAU: About 40 miles away, The Phillips Collection in High Point is also struggling to meet demand. This company makes high-end organic furnishings. Their inventory includes amethysts from Brazil and coffee tables carved from the remnants of a million-year-old tree in the jungles of Indonesia. Mark Phillips is CEO. He says business during the pandemic has been so good for his company that he's been able to give his employees bonuses.

MARK PHILLIPS: We are very fortunate right now. When we exceed last year's shipping, we have to give a bonus. And our goal is to be 8% up, and I've had to give bonuses in June and July and now again in September. So our business is super strong now.

PRIOLEAU: That growth comes despite traffic to Philipps' brick-and-mortar showrooms being down almost 70%. The boom has been driven by online sales. The showrooms for High Point Furniture Market are open for nine days, three times longer than normal, to help control the flow of up to 50,000 attendees per day.
