35K reward being offered in unsolved

Five years ago, Maurice J. Spagnoletti a well known executive in New Jersey banking circles recruited to turn around a troubled financial institution in Puerto Rico left his office in San Juan and headed to his beachfront condo.

As he sat in traffic approaching the Minillas Tunnel on one of San Juan's busiest roads, police said another car pulled alongside his and a series of shots rang out. Spagnoletti's car veered off the road and into a guardrail, where police found him dead hit by at least three bullets to the head. Nothing was stolen, including the expensive Rolex watch on his wrist. No one was ever arrested.

On Tuesday, the FBI in San Juan announced a $20,000 reward for information that could help solve the mysterious June 15,van cleef butterfly fake necklace, 2011, killing. At the same time, his widow, clover replica necklace van cleef, Marisa, who still lives in New Jersey, said she was contributing an additional $10,van cleef arpels fake necklace,000 of her own money toward the reward. She also raised $5,000 in small dollar amounts from family and friends, while asking others to contribute to a fund to help find her husband's killers.

"We hope that this reward will encourage more people to come forward to share what they know about my husband's murder," she said.

A mysterious death and no answers

Police have long said they believed the killing was professionally orchestrated.

While a move for the murder was never established, the bank where Spagnoletti worked Doral Financial has been the target of a long running investigation into its financial dealings in recent years. FBI agents raided the bank's information technology offices in December 2014.

In court papers filed by Spagnoletti's wife, she charged that her husband was targeted after he learned of a series of "potentially fraudulent or improper transactions involving Doral Financial and various third parties." The lawsuit against the bank was later dismissed.

Beset by financial problems, the bank was shut down by regulators last year.

In a press conference in San Juan, the FBI and the police said they have gathered "substantial physical and digital evidence, conducted hundreds of interviews," and followed up on scores of leads.

Spagnoletti, a New Jersey native who was born in Hoboken and graduated from St. Peter's College, van cleef knock off necklace wholesale, worked in top levels jobs at banking institutions across the country, including Summit Bank in New Jersey, where he served as regional president and CEO.

He later moved to Indiana, after Spagnoletti was offered a position at Fifth Third Bank as president and CEO, and then to South Carolina, when he took a job heading up mortgage operations with Carolina First Bank.

Recruited in 2009 by Doral Financial as a consultant, Spagnoletti began working for the company as executive vice president in September 2010, commuting between Doral's offices in New York and San Juan to head up mortgage and banking operations at the time of his death.

His wife, who established a charitable foundation in his name, has set up a reward fund to accept further contributions at the Wells Fargo Bank, 1689 Route 10 in Morris Plains. In addition, she set up a GoFundMe Page where people can also make contributions.

"My husband always did the right and honorable thing, and I am asking people to contribute so that the FBI will use it to obtain more information about my husband's murder," she said.
