Worrying trend with polo players inadequately insured?
Polo Times publisher Nick Hine has addressed a huge area of concern in the latest issue of the polo magazine, which is likely to draw the attention of the Hurlingham Polo Association.
Hine writes: "I was concerned to learn from talking to a number of players, both amateur and professional across all levels of polo, that currently, the majority are either inadequately insured, or worse still, are not insured at all."
"We all know that polo is amongst one of the most adrenaline fuelled team sports that there is to play and for most of us, that's why we do it. In addition, those that play polo accept the the reasonable risks associated with doing so, yet again, most do not even have basic Personal Accident cover."
Hine urges polo players at all levels to assess the risk,cartier copy diamond love ring, and find adequate insurance.
The Horses in Art exhibition
A Horses in Art exhibition will be held at The Bucking Horse Showroom at the picturesque Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club from June 7 to July 11.
It includes Fine Art and Polo Photography from artists with works taken from around the world, Argentina, America, Far East and Europe.
The artists and photographers include Alice Gipps, above, David Sinclair, Tony Ramirez, Gillian Hughes, Eddie Kennedy and sculpture by renowned horse sculptor Charlie Langton and wild life sculptor, Elliott Channer. This year will see six para players taking part in The Heroes Cup followed by the polo world tribute to our armed forces, a high goal match featuring eight of the Best of British Under 25 players.
Afterwards members of all teams will be available for interview along with the Chairman of Best of British Polo, David Cowley,cartier copy ring mens, Co founder of Help for Heroes,cartier copy pinky ring, Bryn Parry and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance Head of Income Generation, Rachel Scholes Hamilton.
Heroes Cup 2015 will see service personnel and veterans compete as part of Best of British Polo, 31st May, Tidworth Polo Club,cartier copy band ring, Tedworth Park, Tidworth SP9 7AH.
HB Polo received 2 goals on handicap at the start of the match and so the score looked fairly respectable in the first half, despite this team failing to score at all in chukkas 2 and 3. Of course when you are facing a team of the calibre of King Power Foxes you cannot allow them any advantage and so by half time, with the score reading 10 6 to Top Srivaddhanaprbha's team, the final score was not too much of a surprise.
Facundo and Gonzalito Pieres dominated the goal scoring, putting through 7 and 5 goals respectively. The youngest member of the Foxes, Hugo Lewis, added one in the fourth chukka too. Cristian Laprida and Ignacio Toccalino worked hard to keep HB's hopes alive, scoring some excellent field goals, but they were no match today for the mighty King Power Foxes and their impressive horsepower.
The Queens Cup, one of the biggest polo tournaments in the world, played at 22 goal, and sponsored by Cartier since 2012, will play out on finals day on Sunday June 14 at Guards Polo Club.
