Albert Haynesworth will play in preseason opener vs

Quarterback Donovan McNabb will make his Redskins debut Friday night and Albert Haynesworth also will play in the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills at FedEx Field, Coach Mike Shanahan said Wednesday at Redskins Park.

Shanahan plans for McNabb, acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles in cartier his and her bracelets copy April for draft picks, to open the game with the first team offense and play "somewhere in the area of 15 to 18 plays." With Richard Bartel (hamstring) sidelined, John Beck could get some snaps along with Rex Grossman at backup.

While working closely in practice with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, MCNabb has increasingly become more comfortable in the Redskins' version of the West Coast scheme.

"We've been out here and making some big plays and spreading the ball around, getting guys involved," McNabb said. "But obviously, week to week, things have to change. You throw different wrinkles in to change things up and kind of keep the defense on their heels. But we need to get out here and really make some plays."

Friday's game will be the first of McNabb's 12 year career in which he is not a member of the Eagles. After participating in the entire offseason program with the Redskins and training camp, McNabb is pleased with his progress.

"Once you make mistakes and you realize what the mistake was, then you eliminate them," McNabb said. "And that's for any player."

Haynesworth is only love collection cartier copy getting started in the team's 3 4 scheme. The two time all pro defensive lineman skipped all but one day of the offseason program and was not permitted to participate in full practice until he passed a conditioning test.

In only his fifth practice, Haynesworth on Wednesday lined up as the first team nose tackle after starter Maake Kemoeatu rested because of the heat. Kemoeatu, who appeared woozy, received assistance from teammates Tuesday evening as he walked from the field into complex's main building.

"There's no problem" with Kemoeatu, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said. "He was tired yesterday. He didn't eat breakfast and he didn't eat lunch. He was tired. He didn't drink a lot of fluids. He got cramped up."

Kemoeatu's day off opened the door for Haynesworth, who is listed as the second string nose but is expected to start at right defensive end this season. "Well, when the No. 1 goes down, the No. 2 guy comes up," Shanahan said. "He had a good practice today, it looked like.

"He got a number of cartier love collection fake reps in there today. We cut practice a little short, obviously, two days before the game. But I was pleased with the practice and the effort. We're fake where can i buy a cartier love bracelet just getting started. He's only been practicing [fully] for [three days]. So it's a process. He'll get a chance to play, along with a number of other players."

Shanahan declined to provide many details about his approach for the preseason opener because he had not discussed the game plan with the team. Many players said the starters would get a maximum of 20 snaps.

In addition to discussing McNabb's role and Haynesworth's situation, Shanahan also said safety Chris Horton (groin tightness) "probably will be out." Horton and Landry (injection in toe) were both limited in practice but "Landry will play. Horton will not," Shanahan said.

As with many coaches in preseason openers, Shanahan plans to keep things simple in preparation for paring down the roster.

"Everything's pretty basic," Shanahan said. "There's no game plan. We're just trying to evaluate the players and kind of get a feel on how hard they play and try not to make it too complicated."

Torn between trying to evaluate players while not revealing too much of the game plan, Shanahan said he struggles to find the right balance in the preseason.

"It's hard. You don't prioritize it, it's just hard," he said. "You don't want to show too much and at the same time you want to evaluate players. You want to see your players play hard and not miss too many assignments.

"Obviously, everybody wants to look good, but not at the expense of not evaluating everybody. So that first game's a little bit tougher because you're wanting to see everybody play. You're not game planning. But it's sure nice to be going against somebody else."

Moe, looks good. I personally hate trying to convert players to a new position, their is such a huge difference from being a back peddling corner to a read and react safety. The only person we had on our team that I realistically thought could make that switch was S Springs, due to his overall ability. I think Barnes might be a bit to green for a move like that, but out of our current personnel he would be best suited for that move in the future dudes a hit stick.

I like Hasletts scheme my question is who is our oj Atogwe? Or do we not have one and will have to look to other positions on the field for the production he brought to stlouie. I think the DBs will end up having 11 on the active roster w/ both Westbrook and Holmes playing primarily on teams. Are we using Rogers as a FS casue ive heard they would employ him and Barnes as safties. Are we using Rogers as a FS casue ive heard they would employ him and Barnes as safties. But lately the talk has been that Rogers would be the nickle corner with Hall and PB as the other corners??
