Neck hurts: what to do and where to go

milaeryomina

Almost every adult and even some children are well aware of the feeling of discomfort in the neck area after prolonged work with the head down or thrown up, resting at night in an uncomfortable position or on the wrong pillow. In most cases, warming ointments and massage will help relieve this condition. However, often neck pain radiating to the shoulder girdle, head or chest can be a symptom of a more serious disease requiring complex treatment. Therefore, the specialists of the Movement clinic strongly recommend not to postpone the visit to the doctor in order to understand the reasons for the appearance of pain in this area and, if necessary, undergo an examination.

Neck pain: causes
The neck or, in scientific terms, the cervical spine, despite its modest size, is an important part of the human body. It is she who provides active movements of the head, and the larynx, trachea, important blood vessels that feed the brain, esophagus pass through it. In its structures are the thyroid gland and large regional lymph nodes. Therefore, any pain signals in the neck area are a good reason not to self-medicate, but to come for a consultation with a specialist.

The back of the neck  can hurt both immediately after waking up after a night's sleep, and during the day after physical exertion. The pain is often acute, but sometimes it can be dull, aching, twitching, or throbbing. At the same time, it is often additionally accompanied by headache, migraine, dizziness, darkening of the eyes, tinnitus, numbness of hands and fingers, impaired visual acuity and other unpleasant symptoms. The most frequently diagnosed pathologies, due to which the  base of the neck hurts , are diseases of the spine and its cervical spine itself:

osteochondrosis;
congenital anomalies;
arthritis;
spine and neck injuries;
arthrosis;
spinal stenosis;
inflammation of muscle tissue (myositis);
inflammation of the nerve nodes of the cervical spine;
intervertebral hernias, etc.
The cause of pain in the neck is often various infectious diseases: osteomyelitis, tuberculosis, meningitis, etc. Diseases of the digestive system, heart, lungs, blood vessels, as well as various tumor-like neoplasms can cause unpleasant feelings in tissues. As you can see, the list of reasons is impressive, which suggests that it is impossible to diagnose yourself on your own.

Neck and nape hurts: what to do
Many of our patients write off pain in the cervical spine and accompanying symptoms for fatigue, drafts and seek to treat them with painkillers, heating ointments and other folk remedies that only temporarily help alleviate the condition. The specialists of our clinic recommend urgently seeking professional medical help if, after possible hypothermia and physical exertion, after 7-10 days, the intensity of pain does not decrease, but becomes sharp, pulling or aching, intensifies and does not give rest.

In our practice, there was a patient who complained of soreness in the neck, headaches and dizziness. She turned to us after she had tried the treatment with different pills and even had a course of massage in the clinic. However, the pain only intensified and we had to perform a medication block to relieve the condition. Later she was diagnosed, diagnosed and prescribed a course of therapy. 7 months have passed and her condition is steadily improving, pain and dizziness have disappeared. Our doctors helped her deal with the causes of the disease and explained how to act so that the attacks would not return.

For accurate and reliable diagnostics in our clinic, patients are examined using the latest low-dose X-ray diagnostic equipment, MRI, and in especially difficult cases - computed tomography. Often, according to research data, patients have to treat diseases that are not related to the musculoskeletal system, but in some cases, the research done helps to save a person from disability and surgery. So, one of our patients was self-medicating on the recommendations of pharmacists after the appearance of "swelling" of the neck, pain in the shoulder girdle and numbness of the upper extremities. At the initial stage of the development of the disease, the acquired ointment and plaster reduced the manifestation of symptoms, but after a short time their intensity increased, and the person came to our clinic. After a thorough examination and MRI, several intervertebral hernias were identified, which, in the absence of adequate treatment, would later require surgical intervention. After undergoing a course of therapy with us, the patient notes a decrease in hernias, no discomfort and numbness of the extremities.

Professional medical care
In our clinic, we understand that each patient is individual and prescribe therapy only if there is a complete clinical picture of his condition. After consultation, examination, collection of information about the person's lifestyle, past diseases and hereditary predisposition, diagnostic studies, the patient is selected a course of treatment aimed at quickly relieving pain, reducing the manifestation of pathology symptoms and restoring the functionality of systems.

In our clinic there is a convenient schedule for the reception of specialists and the work of the diagnostic center, a pleasant atmosphere and helpful staff. All doctors have a huge practical experience and prescribe an optimally effective course of therapy, individual for each specific case. All patients are under the close supervision of the best neuropathologists, physiotherapists, vertebrologists, who control the treatment process and, if necessary, correct it. They do not spend money on useless ointments, patches and do not drink unnecessary painkillers. The advanced methods of treatment we use help to alleviate the condition already at the first visit, and later on, in just a couple of steps, to cope with the problem. Together with us you will again feel lightness and freedom of movement.

As an experienced patient who has undergone three courses of manual therapy with different specialists, including https://gmgchiropractic.ca/...d-nerve-in-the-neck/ I recommend this to people for medical reasons. No massage, no physiotherapy will ever give such an effect as manual therapy. Three months have passed since the completion of the manual therapy course. I have not yet used any medications, I do physical exercises regularly, but the feeling of numbness has not gone anywhere. Although sometimes it seems to me that it began to bother me a little less.As an experienced patient who has undergone three courses of manual therapy with different specialists, including See more
